DEXTER -- Ruby Emma Hudgens, 94, died Jan. 6, 2008, at Missouri Southern Healthcare.
Born Nov. 9, 1913, in Dexter, to the late James Franklin and Anna Blunt Sadler, she had lived all her life in Stoddard County and in Dexter since 1972. She was a member of the Sadler Chapel Methodist Church near Dexter and had also attended the Calvary Baptist Church in Dexter where she belonged to the Women's Club.
On June 12, 1932, in Dexter, she married Hubert W. Hudgens who died on Oct. 30, 1991.
Also preceding her in death were three brothers, William Earl Sadler, George C. Sadler and Arlie Sadler; one sister, Zelma Sadler; and one grandson, Dale Hudgens Jr.
Survivors include: one son, Hubert Dale Hudgens of Bloomfield; one daughter, Dorothy Lee Compton of Nathalie, Va.; one sister, Ruth M. Pruett of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; and nine grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. tonight at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter where services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday. The Revs. Bob Wiggins of Dexter and Danny Collins of Qulin will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter.
