ST. LOUIS -- Donald G. Dockins, 67, formerly of Sikeston, died June 17, 2005, at St. Johns Place in St. Louis. Born Aug. 7, 1937, in Sikeston, son of the late George Franklin and Cora Mae Ballard Dockins, he attended Tyler Redeeming Spiritualist Church. ST. LOUIS -- Donald G. Dockins, 67, formerly of Sikeston, died June 17, 2005, at St. Johns Place in St. Louis.

Born Aug. 7, 1937, in Sikeston, son of the late George Franklin and Cora Mae Ballard Dockins, he attended Tyler Redeeming Spiritualist Church. He was a lance corporal for the U.S. Marine Corps for four years and had worked for United Technologies in the automobile division before retiring.

On June 10, 1967, he married Wanda Sue Patrick who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: two sisters, Helen Caruthers of Bethalto, Ill., and Ruby "Boots" McNail of Farmington.

Three brothers, Dickie Dockins, Chester Dockins and Chalmer Dockins; and four sisters, Betty Hixson, Hazel Allen, Margaret Crites and Mildred Robertson, preceded him in death.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston, where services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Randy Thomas will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery at Sikeston.
