CHARLESTON - Pearl Mae Whitney, 64, died May 31, 2005, at the Clearview Nursing Center in Sikeston.

Born April 9, 1941, in Clarksdale, Miss., daughter of the late Walter and Susie Mix Whitney, she lived in Missouri since 1946. She was a member of the Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church in Wyatt.

Survivors include: three sons, Narvis Whitney of Charleston, Fred Whitney of Atlanta, Ga., and Michael Whitney of Phoenix, Ariz.; four daughters, Bobbie Wiggins and Ida Whitney of Charleston, Melisa Whitney of Essex and Ruby Johnson of Atlanta; four brothers, Tim Whitney of Charleston, Walter Whitney of Wyatt, James Whitney of Alva, Fla., and Henry Whitney of Fort Myers, Fla.; two sisters, Ruby Johnson and Erma Whitney of Charleston; and 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, James Whitney; two brothers, Preston Whitney and Theodore Whitney; and one sister, Rosie Fennell.

Visitation is from 11 a.m. Saturday until service time at noon at the Opportunity Church of God in Christ in Charleston. Elder Steve Betts, pastor, will officiate.

Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Williams Funeral Home of Charleston is in charge of arrangements.
