MORLEY -- John and Gayle Heeb of Bell City and Randy and Teresa Conn of Morley have announced the engagement of their daughter, Kendal L. Heeb, to Lt. Tavis J. Long, son of Robert and Stephanie Long of Dover, Ohio.
A 2000 graduate of Scott County Central High School, the future bride earned a Bachelor of Science in elementary education from Southeast Missouri State University in 2004.
The prospective bridegroom is a 1997 graduate of Massillon Christian School in Massillon, Ohio, and in 2001, he earned a Bachelor of Science in secondary history and English education from Pensacola Christian College in Pensacola, Fla. In 2004 he received a Master of Divinity from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary in Memphis, Tenn. He is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Philosophy in religion from Bethany Divinity College and Seminary. A commissioned officer as a chaplain in the United States Navy, Long is presently assigned to the Marine Corps Logistics Base in Barstow, Calif., where the couple will reside after their marriage.
Plans are being finalized for an Aug. 27 wedding in Morley.
