PORTAGEVILLE - The Sikeston Lady Bulldogs volleyball team split a pair of games with Portageville and Scott City. On Tuesday, the Lady Bulldogs traveled to Portageville and won in two sets, 25-11 and 25-22. On Monday, the Lady Bulldogs lost in three sets at Scott City by scores of 12-25, 25-20, 25-22.

Against Portageville, Sikeston was led in kills by Martika Davis who had six, Caitlin Underwood had four, Quinn Kaiser chipped in with three and Emily Taylor rounded out the scoring with two kills.

Kaiser and Kelsey Lawerence each had four aces while Kiarra Morris and Rachel Beydler served for two aces apiece.

Beydler had eight assist on the game and Lawerence was second on the team with six assists.

On defense, Taylor led Sikeston with eight digs, Khassie Patterson and Lawerence had five and Beydler helped out with four digs.

Davis had two blocks and Beydler had one in the game against Portageville.

Sikeston (8-12) will be home against the Chaffee Red Devils on Thursday with start time set for 6 p.m.

At Scott City, the Lady Bulldogs started off hot but ran out of gas in the end as the Lady Rams won in three sets.

Davis had nine kills against Scott City which led the team and Kaiser was next with five. Beydler and Underwood each had two kills in the game.

Beydler had 10 assist and Lawrence was next with seven. On serve, Lawerence had an excellent game with 11 aces and at one point against the Lady Rams served 11 in a row for winners. Taylor had one ace against Scott City.

On defense, Beydler led the way with 15 digs and Underwood had three blocks at net with Kaiser getting one block in the game.
