CAPE GIRARDEAU - Alicia Lee Godbey, 62, formerly of Risco, died Aug. 24, 2005, at her home. Born Dec. 7, 1942, in Malden to the late James Aldon and Anna Lee Williams Hamlett, she was a member of the Lynwood Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau. On March 27, 1970, at Portageville, she married Melvin Larry Godbey who preceded her in death on June 13, 2002...

CAPE GIRARDEAU - Alicia Lee Godbey, 62, formerly of Risco, died Aug. 24, 2005, at her home.

Born Dec. 7, 1942, in Malden to the late James Aldon and Anna Lee Williams Hamlett, she was a member of the Lynwood Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau.

On March 27, 1970, at Portageville, she married Melvin Larry Godbey who preceded her in death on June 13, 2002.

Survivors include: four sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Jody Godbey of Parma, Jon and Susan Godbey of Chattanooga, Tenn., Rodney and Stephanie Godbey of Cape Girardeau and Lawrence and Carrie Godbey of Louisville, Ky.; one brother, the Rev. James Hamlett of St. Ann; and 10 grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. today at the First Baptist Church in Risco until time for services at 7 p.m. The Rev. Gene Lancaster will officiate.

Funeral services will also be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church in Kentland, Ind.

Burial will follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery at Kentland under the direction of Stitz Funeral Home.

Bradshaw Funeral Home of Malden was in charge of local arrangements.
