MINER -- Ruth Coffey, 89, formerly of Dexter, died Nov. 20, 2007, at the Miner Nursing Center. Born April 4, 1918, at Essex, to the late Jesse and Lura Wilson Brown, she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dexter and a 50-year member of the Order of Eastern Star. She was the former bookkeeper and co-owner with her husband of the Midwest Auto Store, Coffey Brother's Oil Distributorship, Coffey's Jack Spratt Store and Coffey's Restaurant in Parma...

MINER -- Ruth Coffey, 89, formerly of Dexter, died Nov. 20, 2007, at the Miner Nursing Center.

Born April 4, 1918, at Essex, to the late Jesse and Lura Wilson Brown, she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dexter and a 50-year member of the Order of Eastern Star. She was the former bookkeeper and co-owner with her husband of the Midwest Auto Store, Coffey Brother's Oil Distributorship, Coffey's Jack Spratt Store and Coffey's Restaurant in Parma.

On Jan. 27, 1934, at Kennett, she married Russel William Coffey who preceded her in death on Sept. 7, 1992.

Also preceding her in death were one brother, Lloyd Brown; three sisters, Myrtle Willington, Clara Baker and Mildred Tippen; and two grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Survivors include: two sons, Kenneth Coffey of Sikeston and Jerry Coffey of St. Charles; two brothers, Marion Brown of Dexter and Bob Brown of Advance; one sister, Willene Swinger of Poplar Bluff; and seven grandchildren, 12 great-

grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation is from 12:30 p.m. until time of services at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.

Burial will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
