BENTON -- Joseph John Lampe, 72, died April 11, 2005, at Life Care Center in Cape Girardeau. Born Feb. 25, 1933, in Glennonville, son of the late Clemens Mathias and Regina Sophie Peters, he was a member of Boilermakers, Iron Shipbuilders, Blacksmiths, Forgers and Helpers Union Local 27-St. Louis for over 40 years and of the VFW Post 6407 in Scott City. BENTON -- Joseph John Lampe, 72, died April 11, 2005, at Life Care Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born Feb. 25, 1933, in Glennonville, son of the late Clemens Mathias and Regina Sophie Peters, he was a member of Boilermakers, Iron Shipbuilders, Blacksmiths, Forgers and Helpers Union Local 27-St. Louis for over 40 years and of the VFW Post 6407 in Scott City. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he served in the Korean War. He was also a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso.

On Nov. 5, 1955, in Wilhelmina, he married Dorothy Ann Radin, who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: two sons, Mark Lampe of Jackson and Alan Lampe of Benton; two daughters, Jennifer Kern of New Hamburg and Karen Ressel of Scott City; two brothers, Tony Lampe of Black and Clemens Lampe of Arnold; six sisters, Johanna Ronspiez of Texas, Marie Radin of Festus, Eulalie Siebert of Glennonville, Veronica Underwood of Springfield, Rose Jackson of Warrenton and Gesina Rotter of DeSoto; and seven grandchildren.

One son, two brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.

Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Benton with parish prayers at 6:30 p.m.

A funeral Mass is scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso. The Rev. Oliver Clavin will officiate.

Burial will follow in the St. Augustine Cemetery at Kelso.
