Assault investigated

SIKESTON -- Officers with the Sikeston Department of Public Safety are investigating an incident that occurred early this morning.

According to a DPS incident report, officers responded to Missouri Delta Medical Center at just after 6 a.m. today after a report of a man with stab wounds.

Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim, Rogeric Cannon, 34, who had two cuts to his right arm and two cuts to his left arm. Cannon said he was cut four hours earlier near the apartments at the 800 block of Ruth Street.

No further information was available at press time and the investigation is ongoing.
