Your view: Leave us alone
Wednesday, April 6, 2005
Your commentary on the Branson Celebration for Vietnam Era Veterans was right on. Many of us still feel entirely left out, shunned, and ignored by the nation we so gallantly served.
Events like the Branson Celebration are entirely commercial and do not serve the healing process that is truly needed in this country.
It is a time in my life I try very hard to forget, but am constantly reminded by current events and by "celebrations" such as Branson.
The old saying "let sleeping dogs lie" is probably true for us Vietnam Veterans. Leave us alone. After being ignored for so long, we choose to continue in silence.
