KELSO -- Mackenzie Elizabeth Price and Fred Lincoln Scherer III were united in marriage Sept. 4, 2004, at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso. The Revs. David Dohogne and Keith Price, uncle of the bride, performed the ceremony. Parents of the bride are John and Linda Price of Cape Girardeau, and the bridegroom is the son of Fred and Christy Scherer of Bell City. KELSO -- Mackenzie Elizabeth Price and Fred Lincoln Scherer III were united in marriage Sept. 4, 2004, at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso. The Revs. David Dohogne and Keith Price, uncle of the bride, performed the ceremony.

Parents of the bride are John and Linda Price of Cape Girardeau, and the bridegroom is the son of Fred and Christy Scherer of Bell City. Grandparents include Mrs. Betty Haynie of Advance, Mrs. Louise Price of Advance and Mrs. Alice Gardner of Sikeston.

Music for the occasion was provided by vocalists Mike Dumey and Robyn Hosp, organist Christy Shinn, Trio Girardeaux, harpist Chaddie Frewhald and trumpeter Kenny DeCoursey.

Readers were Nancy Mueller and Carolyn Price, aunts of the bride. Greeters included Cate Green of Florissant, Miya Scherer of Celina, Texas, Tracey Hilleman of Springfield and Casey Brennan of Cape Girardeau.

Lori Bittle of Cape Girardeau served the bride as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Trisha Bennett, Jenny Goncher, Stefanie Watson, Lindsay Dement and Lindsay Landgraf, all of Cape Girardeau; Molly Woeltje of Jackson and Mary Keeling of Springfield.

Best man was Gabriel Scherer of Bell City, brother of the bridegroom. Groomsmen and ushers were Jacob Jenkins of Springfield, Justin Stephens of St. Louis; Matt Finney of Cape Girardeau, Ryan Blaha of Belleville, Ill., Zach McIntyre of Bell City, Nate Wills of Waterloo, Ill., John Fister of St. Louis, Winston Thompson and Wesley Leek of Dallas, Texas, and Adam and Peter Friese of Sedalia.

Junior bride was Lauren Elizabeth Dumey, daughter of Mike and Betsy Dumey of Cape Girardeau. Flower girls were Caitylyn Faith Dumey, daughter of Mike and Betsy Dumey, and Laurel Elizabeth Mueller, daughter of Matt and Tammy Mueller. Lane Mueller, also son of Matt and Tammy Mueller, served as the girls escort.

Luke Mueller, son of Tammy and Matt Mueller of Jackson, was the junior bridegroom, and ringbearer was Austin Mueller, son of Traci and Nathan Mueller of Jackson.

Natasha McCalister, daughter of Glen and Pam McCalister of High Ridge; and Sam Scherer, son of Scott and Laura Scherer of Celina, were candle lighters. Runner attendants were Sam and Will Scherer of Celina.

A wedding reception and dinner-dance was held at the A.C. Brase Arena in Cape Girardeau with entertainment by Robyn Hosp and Mike Dumey.

The bridegroom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner Sept. 3 at Francine's Garden.

A 2001 graduate of Cape Central High School, Mrs. Scherer attended Southwest Missouri State University and expects to graduate from Southeast Missouri State University in May. She works as coordinator of the after school program at St. Vincent's in Cape Girardeau.

Scherer graduated from Bell City High School in 1998 and received a Bachelor of Science in agribusiness from Southeast Missouri State University. He expects to receive a master's degree from Southwest Missouri State University in May and is currently employed by Sikeston R-6 Schools as a vocational agriculture teacher.

Following a wedding trip to Play del Carmen, Mexico, Mr. and Mrs. Scherer reside in Cape Girardeau.
