Vollygean Pepper

ANGEL FIRE, N.M. - Vollygean Johnson Pepper, 73, formerly of Mississippi County, Mo., died Dec. 25, 2005, at the St. Vincent Hospital in Santa Fe.

Born July 6, 1933, in Mississippi County, daughter of the late Narvel "Bob" and Bessie Elizabeth Estes Johnson, she attended school at Dorena, Anniston and East Prairie. An active member of the Moreno Valley Church of Christ, she was a homemaker, care giver and certified nurses aide.

On Dec. 22, 1951, she married A.J. Pepper of Brownwood, Texas. He preceded her in death after 25 years of marriage.

Two brothers, W.T. Johnson and Shannon Johnson also preceded her in death.

Survivors include: three sons, Joe Pepper of Angel Fire, Jimmie Pepper of Brownwood and Jay Pepper of Eagle Nest; three daughters and sons-in-law, Veda and Gene Christian of Coleman, Texas, Monda and Donnie Milton of Denver City, Texas, and Bobbie and Howard Preston of Brownwood; one sister, Faustine Hatley of East Prairie; and 10 grandchildren and six great-

grandchildren.

Visitation will be at 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, where services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday in the Shelby Chapel. Mike Johnson will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie.
