SIKESTON - Delpha Raye Higdon, 92, died at 12:55 a.m. June 30, 2005, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

Born April 19, 1913, in Rosiclare, Ill., daughter of the late Homer (Rose) and Barbara Leona Widdows Henson, she had been a restaurant cook at the Cyrus Inn and a bookkeeper at Scott County Milling Elevators. She was a member of the Temple of Faith church.

On Jan. 27, 1936, in New Madrid, she married Marshall Edds Higdon who preceded her in death.

One son, one daughter and six sisters also preceded her in death.

Survivors include: two sons and three daughters-in-law, Malcolm and Carolyn Brashears Higdon of Concord, Calif., Marshall Ray and Delores Higdon of Ouray, Colo., and Wanda Higdon of Sacramento, Calif.; and 14 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Blanchard Funeral Chapel where services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Loy Miller, pastor at Temple of Faith Church in Sikeston, will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Matthews Cemetery.
