PUXICO - Beulah "Boots" Hartz, 84, died March 18, 2006, at the Puxico Nursing and Rehab Center.
Born Aug. 20, 1921, in Victoria, La., daughter of the late William J. and Ora Bates Johnston, she worked for the Puxico Handle Factory. She and her husband had lived in Bakersfield, Calif., where she worked for 30 years for Sears Federated Stores before returning to Puxico. She had also lived in St. Louis and was a member of the Eastern Star and the Assembly of God Church.
On Oct. 7, 1936, in Puxico, she married Oliver William "Bub" Hartz who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one son, Dwain Hartz of Sparks, Nev.; and two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by three brothers, Claude Johnston, Andrew Johnston and William Johnston; and one sister, Margaret Johnston.
Visitation is scheduled for 6 p.m. today at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Wiley McGhee of Puxico officiating.
Burial will follow in the Puxico Cemetery.
