Fields wins BassBuster tourney

Winners from the BassBusters tournament held Sept. 11 were, from left: Stan Pace, Brandon Fields and Leon Miller.

SIKESTON -- The Bootheel BassBusters held their seventh tournament of the year on Sept. 11 at Kentucky Lake out of Kenlake Marina.

Brandon Fields won the tournament with two fish weighing 7 lbs. 2 oz. including the tournament big bass of 4 lbs. even. Stan Pace was second with three fish weighing 6 lbs. 9 oz. and Leon Miller was third with three fish weighing 6 lbs. 3 oz. Shannon Garrett won the "Lucky Drawing."

The club donated all the proceeds from the tournament to the Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund.

Leven Cox leads in the Angler-of-the-Year race with 1,067 points. Mike Estes is second with 1,039 points and Leon Miller is third with 908 points.

The club travels to Lake Barkley on Oct.2 for a tournament out of Poplar Creek.
