CENTRALIA, Ill. - Betty J. Myers Mitchell, 57, formerly of East Prairie, Mo., and O'Fallon, Mo., died at 1:51 a.m. Sept. 9, 2005, at the Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.
Born Sept. 8, 1948, at East Prairie, daughter of the late Joe B. and Kathleen Couch Myers, she had lived in Centralia for the past 10 years after moving from O'Fallon.
Survivors include: two daughters, Tracy Smith of Old Monroe, Mo., and Teresa Chapman of Celina, Texas; one brother, Gary Myers of Sikeston, Mo.; five sisters, Vicky Sanders and Shirley Chance of East Prairie, Penny Houston of Moscow Mills, Mo., Marie Myers of Centralia and Joetta Blumenberg of Wright City, Mo.; six grandchildren; and a special friend, Tom Jantzen of Centralia.
Preceding her in death were two brothers, James Myers and Larry Joe Myers; and two sisters, Barbara Foster and Rita Mollenauer.
Visitation will be held after 6 p.m. Saturday at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie where services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Sunday with Gary Myers officiating.
Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery.
