CHARLESTON - Eliane Simone Vacher Phillips, 82, died at 2:30 a.m. June 19, 2005, at the Charleston Manor.
Born Oct. 22, 1922, in Saint Bris Le Viueux, Yonne, France, to the late Jean Louis and Rene`e Berson Vacher, she was a resident of Charleston since 1948 and a member of St. Henry's Catholic Church where she volunteered for many church and school activities. She was a homemaker and had worked as a professional aupere (nanny) for several Charleston families through the years.
She was married to Leslie Jack Phillips who preceded her in death in 1987.
Survivors include: one son, Leslie Phillips of Cairo, Ill.; two daughters, Jackeline Watkins of Charleston and Beatrice Ann Ezell of Sikeston; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and her godchild, Marcel Bourgerie of Yonne, France.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Saturday until time for a memorial service at 10 a.m. at St. Henry Catholic Church. Monsignor Richard Rolwing, senior pastor-
in-residence at St. Francis Xavier Church in Sikeston, will officiate.
Her cremains will be returned to her family in Limoge, France, for entombment.
McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston is in charge of arrangements.
