Son dies after being shot in head by father

PORTAGEVILLE -- A 20-year-old Portageville man shot by his father died Friday at a hospital in Memphis, Tenn.

According to Portageville Police Department, Eugene Pardon of Portageville and his son, Dustin "Dusty" Pardon, 20, of Portageville were involved in an argument around 2:50 a.m. Friday on West 11th St. in Portageville when Eugene Pardon shot his son in the head.

Dusty Pardon was transported to Elvis Presley Trauma Center in Memphis, where he was pronounced dead later that day; he was taken to DeLisle Funeral Home in Portageville.

Eugene Pardon is being held at New Madrid County Jail. No further information was available at press time.
