CHARLESTON - Geneva Finley, 90, died at 6:20 a.m. Aug. 27, 2005, at The Arbors in Cape Girardeau.
Born Aug. 2, 1915, in East Prairie, daughter of the late Jim Ben and Delphia Murphy Greer, since 1938 she had lived in Charleston where she was an active member of the First Baptist Church serving as a member of the kitchen committee and as a worker in the nursery department and vacation Bible school. She had also served as a Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star.
On April 17, 1938, she married Harry Stark Finley who preceded her in death on April 21, 1983.
Also preceding her in death were one great-grandson, Andrew Kerr Goodin; one sister, Lucille Lemons; and four brothers, Calvin Greer, Earl Greer, Selma Greer and Everett Greer.
Surviving are: two sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Glenda Finley of Nashville, Tenn., and Gary and Susan Finley of Hattiesburg, Miss.; three daughters and sons-in-law, Gladys Jane and Albert Goodin and June and Al Drinkwater of Charleston and Diane and Vearl Caid of Ponca City, Okla.; one sister, Gladys Newman of Charleston; and 10 grandchildren and 10 great-
grandchildren.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. today at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Keith Huffman, interim pastor, officiating.
Burial will follow in the IOOF Cemetery near Charleston.
Pallbearers will be: John Drinkwater, Justin Drinkwater, Al Goodin, Harry Goodin, Jay Finley and Darren Steele.
