ORAN -- Edvera Welter, 83, died Nov. 7, 2007, at Mount Carmel Senior Living in St. Charles. Born May 21, 1924, at Benton, to the late William John and Amelia Alvina Scherer Urhahn, she was a retired store clerk from Ken's Cleaners in Cape Girardeau. ORAN -- Edvera Welter, 83, died Nov. 7, 2007, at Mount Carmel Senior Living in St. Charles.

Born May 21, 1924, at Benton, to the late William John and Amelia Alvina Scherer Urhahn, she was a retired store clerk from Ken's Cleaners in Cape Girardeau. She was a member of the Guardian Angel Catholic Church, St. Ann Sodality and the KCettes Council No. 4311.

On Nov. 28, 1946, she married Cletus Welter who preceded her in death on Sept. 28, 1990.

Four brothers and three sisters also preceded her in death.

Survivors include: two sons, Richard Welter of Jackson and David Welter of Melbourne, Fla.; two daughters, Diane Welter of Hazelwood and Darlene Reed of Farmington; and four grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled at 5 p.m. today at the Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Oran with parish prayers at 7 p.m. followed by KC prayer services at 7:15 p.m. Services will be conducted at the church at 10 a.m Saturday with the Rev. Normand Varone officiating.

Burial will follow in the Guardian Angel Catholic Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Enis Hinkebein, Ronnie Hurst, John Urhahn, Michael Schlitt, Chuck Smith and Larry Westrich.
