DEXTER - Floyd "Dolph" Gibson, 90, died Jan. 9, 2006, at the Missouri Southern Healthcare facility in Dexter. Born Nov. 6, 1915, near Dexter, son of the late Lonnie and Hattie Duncan Gibson, he had lived most of his life in Dexter, spent many years in Washington State and returned to Dexter in 1985, where he was a member of the Second General Baptist Church...

DEXTER - Floyd "Dolph" Gibson, 90, died Jan. 9, 2006, at the Missouri Southern Healthcare facility in Dexter.

Born Nov. 6, 1915, near Dexter, son of the late Lonnie and Hattie Duncan Gibson, he had lived most of his life in Dexter, spent many years in Washington State and returned to Dexter in 1985, where he was a member of the Second General Baptist Church.

On July 31, 1935, in Dexter, he married Iva Mae Chapman, who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one son, Cloyd E. Gibson of Bernie; two daughters, Iva Jean Tippen and Margaret Ann McKinny, both of Wenatchee, Wash.; one brother. Alvin James "Bud" Gibson of Dexter; and 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: one son, Floyd D. Gibson on Oct. 12, 1995; two brothers, Grover Wilson Gibson and John Luther Gibson; and one sister, Wilma Fae Eaton.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, where services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, with the Rev. Vyron Yount of Chaffee officiating.

Burial will follow in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter.
