BLOOMFIELD - Jimmie S. Farmer, 64, died Jan. 8, 2006, at his home.

Born Sept. 18, 1941, in Dexter, son of the late Charles R. and Lucy Ann Ruggles Farmer, he was formerly employed for 27 years with Arvin Meritor in Dexter and was affiliated with the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Dexter.

On Aug. 11, 1995, in Piggott, Ark., he married Judith Plumb, who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: two sons, Jeff Farmer of Dexter and Jimmy Farmer of Imperial; two daughters, Jaime Dowdy of High Ridge and Julia Farmer of Bloomfield; one stepdaughter, Cindy Allen of Bloomfield; two brothers, Charles Farmer and Allen Farmer, both of Dexter; four sisters, Levella Gold and Roxine Terrill, both of Dexter, Yvonne Taylor of Wappapello and Frankie Kinder of Bloomfield; and four grandchildren and four stepgrandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: three brothers, Earl Farmer, Earnest Farmer and Robert Farmer; and three sisters, Lawanda Farmer, Ruth Elledge and Hortense Davis.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter, where services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Shane Mallard officiating.

Burial will follow in the Caroline Dowdy Cemetery in Dexter.
