Myrtle Ice
LILBOURN - Myrtle Ice, 88, died Sept. 15, 2005, at Beverly Health Care in New Madrid.
Born Aug. 1, 1917, in Matthews, daughter of the late George and Carrie Lambert Taylor, she was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Civic Improvement Club and past worthy matron of the Eastern Star at Lilbourn.
On March 1, 1937, she married W.H. "Bill" Ice, who preceded her in death June 28, 1992.
Several brothers and sisters also preceded her in death.
Survivors include: two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles William and Martha Ice of New Madrid and Howard George and Vivian Ice of Carlyle, Ill.; one brother, Harvey Taylor of Lilbourn; one sister, Louise Johnson of Portageville; five grandchildren, Freddie Ice and Debbie Ice of Abilene, Texas, Charlie Ice of St. Louis, Melanie Glaus of Sikeston and Jeff Hitch of Carlisle; and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Ponder Funeral Home in Lilbourn, followed by graveside services at 11:30 a.m. at the Evergreen Cemetery in New Madrid. The Rev. Jimmy Johnson, pastor of Cottonwood Baptist Church in Caruthersville will be officiating.
