WILSON CITY - Lommie "Doc" Lane, 79, died Sept. 19, 2005, at his home. Born March 6, 1926, in Sikeston, son of the late Leondas and Clara Hall Lane, he lived most of his life in Missouri. He was a retired farmer and was a former mayor of Wilson City for 16 years. He was a member of Sanders Chapel A.M.E. Church since 1944, and was a trustee and the pastor's steward for 43 years...

WILSON CITY - Lommie "Doc" Lane, 79, died Sept. 19, 2005, at his home.

Born March 6, 1926, in Sikeston, son of the late Leondas and Clara Hall Lane, he lived most of his life in Missouri. He was a retired farmer and was a former mayor of Wilson City for 16 years. He was a member of Sanders Chapel A.M.E. Church since 1944, and was a trustee and the pastor's steward for 43 years.

On Nov. 3, 1946, he married Nona Brewster, who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: two sons, Lommie Lane Jr. and Trent Lane of Wilson City; one daughter and son-in-law, Vallorie and Timothy Jones of St. Louis; nine grandchildren and one great-grandson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters and five brothers.

Visitation is at 10 a.m. Saturday with services to follow at 11 a.m. at the Perry Chapel A.M.E. Church in Charleston. The Rev. Johnny Thomas, pastor of New Bethel Baptist Church of Cape Girardeau, will officiate.

Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston with Williams Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
