SIKESTON - Coach Lou Bona's Sikeston High School Bulldogs will have there first testing tomorrow night when they meet the East Prairie Eagles on the East Prairie gridiron.
SIKESTON - It's carnival time. At 5 p.m. today the American Legion will unveil its 21st annual Cotton Carnival. Judges will interview 20 young lovelies, who have been selected by the senior high school homerooms as their candidates for Miss Sikeston for 1965-66.

LILBOURN - Lilbourn's annual fall festival at Homecoming will open Monday night with the Travelers, a Sikeston group, providing entertainment on the midway stage.
SIKESTON - Many patients in hospitals served by Red Cross in this area need types O and B blood. If this is your type, make a special effort to donate on Oct. 1 at the Sikeston Community Blood Drive, which will be held at the First United Methodist Church.
SIKESTON - Students at the Sikeston High School rallied around the flagpole on the front lawn of the school on Wednesday morning to pray. Students gathered in a large circle and held hands. The display was to show that kids should have the right to choose where and when they pray.

SIKESTON - Given approval by the City Council, the Public Works Department will receive another pickup truck to augment code enforcement activities. The pickup was purchased through an insurance auction. The truck has a new set of tires, but has had body work done to the grill, hood and radiator, and the supports have been replaced. Jim Groves, vehicle maintenance supervisor, drove the vehicle and said he believes it is in good condition.
