DEXTER - Mary Cox, 84, died Nov. 14, 2005, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Highland, Ill.

Born March 18, 1921, at Goshen, Ark., daughter of the late William R. and Margaret Berry Knight, she was a retired secretary for Missouri State Probation and Parole in Dexter and Sikeston and a member of Southwest Church of Nazarene in Dexter and the Dexter Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.

On Apr. 26, 1947, at Dexter, she married Ray L. Cox who preceded her in death on Nov. 10, 1999.

Three brothers, Beryl Knight, Richard Knight and Jimmie Knight, and one sister, Hazel Fry, also preceded her in death.

Survivors include: two sons, Douglas Ray Cox of Olathe, Kan., and Stephen Alan Cox of Highland; and one sister, Hazel Fry.

Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Ed Stoner officiating.

Burial will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
