SIKESTON - Earl B. "Sonny" Copeland, 84, died at 11:47 p.m. April 27, 2006, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston. Born Aug. 2, 1921, in Steele, to the late William Simon and Allie D. SIKESTON - Earl B. "Sonny" Copeland, 84, died at 11:47 p.m. April 27, 2006, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

Born Aug. 2, 1921, in Steele, to the late William Simon and Allie D. Curtis Copeland, he served in the United States Army during World War II. He was owner and operator of the Union 76 Truck Plaza in Matthews and a member of the Church of Christ in Blytheville, Ark.

On Feb. 12, 1947, in Blytheville, he married Marie H. Swiney who preceded him in death on April 22, 2002.

One son, Richard Copeland; one daughter, Barbara Nell Wilf; two brothers and two sisters also preceded him in death.

Survivors include: two sisters, Mary Frances Shielly of Greenville and Margaret Fern Reid of Ohio; one grandson, Mark Wilf of Cordova, Tenn. and two granddaughters, Loren Davis and Kristi Copeland, both of Ponca City, Okla.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel, where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday. Pat Hogan, minister at Shady Acres Church of Christ, will officiate.

Burial will follow in Mounds Park Cemetery.
