SIKESTON - Katherine "Kit" Marshall, 98, died Jan. 27, 2006, at her home northwest of Sikeston. Born April 24, 1907, at Morganfield, Ky., to the late W.B. and Mary Louisa Mills Hanner, she was a 1925 graduate of Sikeston High School and a member of the First United Methodist Church for many years. SIKESTON - Katherine "Kit" Marshall, 98, died Jan. 27, 2006, at her home northwest of Sikeston.

Born April 24, 1907, at Morganfield, Ky., to the late W.B. and Mary Louisa Mills Hanner, she was a 1925 graduate of Sikeston High School and a member of the First United Methodist Church for many years. She farmed with her husband on their farm 10 miles northwest of Sikeston.

On Sept. 22, 1930, she married Ray Marshall Sr. who preceded her in death on Sept. 10, 1970.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by: one grandson, Ray Marshall III; two sisters, Imelda Taylor and Margaret Dunn; stepmother, Arabella Willingham Hanner; and stepsister, Lois Goodpasture.

Survivors include: two sons and one daughter-in-law, Mark and Mary Marshall and Ray Marshall Jr., all of Sikeston; one daughter and son-in-law, Margaret and Laurnie Nelson of Mt. Vernon, Ind.; one nephew, Doug Taylor of Sikeston; one niece, Nina Vern Andrews of Denver, Colo.; her loving caretakers, Judy Wallace of Vanduser and Jean Turner of Sikeston; 13 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. until time of services at 1 p.m. Monday at the Dempster Chapel of First United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Geoff Posegate, senior pastor officiating.

Burial will follow in Sikeston City Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Darrel Williams, Willard Miller, David Nelson, Dean Nelson, Steve Marshall and John Nelson.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Tom Nelson and Doug Taylor.

Ponder Funeral Home of Sikeston is in charge of arrangements.
