MALDEN -- Jessica Cunningham and Michael Britton were united in marriage during a 2 p.m. ceremony at the Landmark United Pentecostal Church in Malden. The double-ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. Leroy Young of Malden and the Rev. Eric J. McDougall of Sikeston.

The bride is the daughter of Billy Cunningham of Malden and Vicki Cunningham of Wisner, La. She is the granddaughter of Evelyn and J.L. Cunningham of Gideon and Jerry Foy DeLaughter of Wisner and the late Alvie Lee Foy.

Parents of the bridegroom are Bill and Louise Britton of Sikeston. He is the grandson of Don and Lavern Smith of Poplar Bluff, Pauline Britton of rural Bell City and the late Edward Britton.

The ceremony included musical selections, "Canon in D;" "Can't Live Without You," by Avalon; "I Don't Want To Go," by Avalon; and "Loving Each Other," by Ray Boltz. The sound engineer was Vernon Rhody of Malden with the "Bridal March" played by Andriel Young of Malden.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. Serving her friend as matron of honor was Holly Turnbo of Dyersburg, Tenn. Bridesmaids were Candace Kirkpatrick, Crystal Vinson, Samantha Silman and Charity Rhody, all friends of the bride from Malden. Flower girl was Constance Cunningham, sister of the bride.

Serving his brother as best man was David Britton, Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class. Groomsmen were Caleb Kirkpatrick of Malden, and Lannie Moore, Trent Morgan and Troy Wickett of Sikeston, all friends of the bridegroom. Ringbearer was Nathaniel Kirkpatrick of Malden.

Ryan Knuckles, cousin of the bridegroom, and Michael Wright, friend of the bridegroom, both of Sikeston, served as candle lighters and ushers. The guest book was attended by Paula Wright of Sikeston, and Vicki Young of Malden served as wedding coordinator.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the Landmark Church Fellowship Hall. The wedding cake was designed and provided by Sharon Knuckles of Sikeston. The church decor was provided by Darlene McGee, Kathy Merritt and Ruthie Moore, all of Malden.

Following a honeymoon in Chattanooga, Tenn., the new Mr. and Mrs. Britton are making their home in Sikeston.
