CHARLESTON -- James Thomas Henderson, 67, died Nov. 26, 2005, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston. Born Aug. 4, 1938, in Charleston, son of the late Carmel and Ethel Mae Anderson Henderson, he attended Lincoln School in Charleston and worked for the United States Postal Service. CHARLESTON -- James Thomas Henderson, 67, died Nov. 26, 2005, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

Born Aug. 4, 1938, in Charleston, son of the late Carmel and Ethel Mae Anderson Henderson, he attended Lincoln School in Charleston and worked for the United States Postal Service. He was honorably discharged from the United States Army.

Survivors include: two sons, James Henderson Jr. of Bolingbrook, Ill., and Bobby Gary of Seattle Wash.; five daughters, Gwendolyn Hawthorne of Rockford, Ill., Vivian Henderson, Dorise Monroe and Annette Ganesha, all of Oak Park, Ill., and Carolyn Henderson of Chicago; three brothers, Jerome Henderson of Detroit, Mich., Salim Shaheed of Chicago and Billy Coleman of Charleston; one sister, Shirley Coleman of Charleston; 16 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is from 11 a.m. until time for services at noon Saturday at the Opportunity Church of God in Christ. Steve Betts will officiate.

Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Missouri Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield.

Williams Funeral Home of Charleston is in charge of arrangements.
