CAIRO, Ill. - William C. "Bill" Hafford, 63, died Nov. 29, 2005, at his home.

Born May 1, 1942, in Cairo, son of the late Thomas and Kathryn Whitaker Hafford, he owned B & H Heating and Cooling in Cairo and was a member of the Cairo Lodge 237 AF&AM and was a York Rite Mason. He was a member of the Ainad Shrine Temple in East St. Louis, the KIM Shrine Club of Cairo, and the Cairo VFW Post 2649, serving as commander from 2001 to 2004. He was a member of the American Legion and the American Humane Society and a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served during the Vietnam War.

He was married to Mary Griffith who survives of the home.

In addition to his wife, survivors include: three sons and two daughters-in-

law, Bill and Amy Hafford Jr. of Hoyleton, Carl and Tracie Hafford of St. Louis, Mo., and Alan Hayden of Barlow, Ky.; seven daughters and four sons-in-law, Kathy and Roger Oglesby of Texico, Deborah and Leo Katanzaro of St. Louis, Mo., Jerie Roberts of Mount Vernon, Kimberly Hafford and fiance' Kevin Miller of Effingham, Diane and Rockne Ragsdale of Reidland, Ky., Barbara Wilson of Cairo and Tammy and Ed Langan of Barlow; one brother, Thomas Hafford of Cordova, Tenn.; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Jean and Bob Hinton of Sikeston, Mo., and Sharon Pierce of Erin, Tenn.; and several grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo where Masonic services will be conducted at 7:30 tonight by Cairo Lodge 237 AF&AM and funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Scott Kelley officiating.

Burial will follow in Mound City National Cemetery with military honors by the Pulaski County Memorial VFW Post 8891 of Mounds.
