CHARLESTON - Shaunda Phillips Grubbs, 58, died at 11:43 p.m. Dec. 2, 2005, at her home.
Born Aug. 19, 1947, in Somerset, Ky., to the late Otis and Ocie Rich Phillips, she had lived for the past 19 years in Mississippi County, where she was employed as a VNA nurse. She was of the Pentecostal faith.
Survivors include: her partner, Billy Gene Matthews of the home; one son, William Grubbs of Charleston; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Ruth Ann and Stan Messer of Waynesville, N.C., and Billie Jo Grubbs and Melissa and Jason Bumpous of Flat Rock, N.C.; four sisters, Shirley Bowen and Sue Belcher of Muncie, Ind., Norma Jean Seals of the state of Ohio and Nina Wachob of Anderson, Ind.; and four grandchildren.
One brother, Bobby Coffee, one sister, Mary Alford, and one grandson preceded her in death.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, where services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, with Kenneth Gibson officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Pine Knot Cemetery at Pine Knot, Ky.
