ORAN -- Scott County tournament Oran eased by Malden 11-1 in five innings at home to earn a spot in the semifinal round of the tournament.

The Eagles (12-3) will meet Dexter, a 4-1 winner over Senath-Hornersville, today at 11 a.m. at Oran.

Kody Campbell led Oran's offense with two doubles and a triple. Caleb Seyer, Austin Dumey, Joey Williams and Chris Asmus each added two hits. On the other side of the bracket, in games played at Kelly, Advance topped Dexter's junior varsity 3-2 and Kelly beat Cooter 6-3.

Kelly will face Advance in a semifinal at 9 a.m. today at Oran.

Ben Courtois pitched a four-hit complete game shutout for Saxony Lutheran in a 4-0 quarterfinal win over host Chaffee.

The Crusaders (4-4) will play today at 9:30 a.m. in the semifinals against Perryville, a 6-5 winner against Egyptian, Ill.

The two semifinal games and the championship, scheduled for 6:45 p.m. today, will be played at Chaffee. Kory Mueller provided the offensive spark for Saxony, slamming a two-run home run in the fifth inning to give the Crusaders a four-run lead.

Peter Winningham added two hits. Chaffee (5-8) will take on Egyptian at 9:30 a.m. at Scott City. Scott City defeated Bell City 5-0 in a first-round game at Scott City.

The Rams (6-5) will meet Shawnee, Ill., which topped New Madrid County Central 7-4, in an 11:45 a.m. semifinal game today. Cody Carlyle led Scott City with two hits, and Rynn Eskew won his second game on the mound.

Matt Hester delivered a game-winning infield single in the bottom of the ninth with bases loaded and one out as Central edged visiting Festus. Festus (10-6) grabbed a 1-0 lead in the top of the third, but Central (13-4) countered with a run in the fifth.

Hester finished with three hits, and Blake Slattery added two. Tyler Propst earned his second win on the mound, allowing one hit and no runs in the final 3 1/3 innings. Propst relieved starting pitcher Justin Myers, who gave up five hits and one earned run.

Notre Dame finished with 17 runs on 18 hits in a five-inning road win. Abe Dirnberger led the Bulldogs (12-4) with a perfect 5-for-5 day.

Jacob Essner had four hits, Luke Moll had three and Lucas Dirnberger and Shane Menz added two hits apiece.
