PORTAGEVILLE -- Mr. and Mrs. Tim Ferrell have announced the engagement of their daughter, Lauren Marie, to James Richard Brands, son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Brands of Portageville.
The future bride is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard "Buck" Ferrell of Caruthersville and the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hendricks. A 2001 graduate of Portageville High School, she received a Bachelor of Science in diagnostic medical sonography from Arkansas State University in August 2005. She is employed at Crittenden Memorial Hospital in West Memphis, Ark.
The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of Henry Brands of Portageville and the late Irene Brands and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Perry of New Madrid. He is a 2000 graduate of Portageville High School and will graduate in May with a Bachelor of Science in chemistry from Arkansas State University. He will attend the University of Tennessee-Memphis School of Pharmacy in August.
Wedding vows will be exchanged May 20 at St. Eustachius Catholic Church in Portageville.
