RISCO -- Mr. and Mrs. Steve Landers of Risco and Vanessa Landers of New Madrid have announced the engagement of their daughter, Jennifer Denise Landers, to Yevgeny Vladimirovich Sokolov, son of Vladimir Sokolov and Tatiana Sokolova of Ivanovo, Russia.
The future bride is the granddaughter of Shirley Gibbs of Risco and the late Van Gibbs and Don Landers of Malden and the late Patsy Landers. In 2004, she graduated from Southeast Missouri State University with a bachelor's degree in health management/athletic training.
The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of Evdokia Chichina of Zapashka, Russia, and the late Anatoly Chichin and Maria Sokolova. He graduated in 2005 from Arkansas State University with a ' degree in fine art. While attending the university, he was a member of the Arkansas State University Indians basketball team.
Friends and family are invited to attend the 4:30 p.m. wedding May 20 at the Centenary United Methodist Church in Cape Girardeau with a reception following at the Elk's Lodge.
