SIKESTON - Kristy Moore, PHR, has joined Ferguson Medical Group as the new director of human resources.
"We are very pleased to add someone of Kristy's caliber to our management team," said Kelley J. Rushing, CMPE, chief executive officer. "She comes very highly recommended. We believe she will bring new innovations and a flexible management style for our human resources department to build upon. I am confident our employees will find her to be personable, fair and a person of integrity."
Moore, who has over seven years of progressively responsible human resource management experience, comes to FMG from American Spring Wire Corporation in Kankakee, Ill., just outside of Chicago, where she was the human resource manager and safety manager. Her responsibilities included selection and placement of personnel, both exempt and non-exempt, development and implementation of company policies, team building and benefits and compensation, among others.
As safety manager she ensured compliance of OSHA rules and regulations through training, testing and education. She received her advanced safety certification with the National Safety Council in 2004.
Moore has a Bachelor of Science degree in management from Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, Ill. In June 2004 she obtained her Professional in Human Resources certification.
"The certification is nationally recognized in the HR field as a thorough test of a person's technical background knowledge of human resources. It has been a great asset to me professionally," Moore said.
As the human resources manager for FMG, Moore said she will "have an open door policy. I want employees to feel comfortable coming to me with issues, problems, or for answers, and even just to vent. They will find that I am very honest and fair."
A native of New Madrid, Moore said after being gone for several years she decided it was time to move back home.
"My husband's family and my family are both in New Madrid," she said. "So, close family ties brought us back home."
Moore, her husband, Greg, and two sons, Alex, who is in kindergarten, and Drew, who just turned 1 year old, live in New Madrid.
"I am starting to get settled in at FMG," said Moore, who began her job March 20. "The employees and physicians have made me feel very welcome and I am excited to get started on projects that I hope will improve day-to-day operations at the clinic. I'm looking forward to working with the administrative staff as well as various organizations and individuals in the community."
