BENTON - David Ray Ervin, 41, died at 7 a.m. July 25, 2006, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau as a result of injuries sustained in a car accident. BENTON - David Ray Ervin, 41, died at 7 a.m. July 25, 2006, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau as a result of injuries sustained in a car accident.

Born Jan. 18, 1965, son of Ronald Dewayne Ervin of Lilbourn and Doris Ann Hopper Heavener of Sikeston, he was employed as a palletizer at Good Humor-Breyers in Sikeston and attended the Church of Christ in Morley.

On Oct. 2, 1982, in Sikeston, he was united in marriage to Teresa Carol Freeman, who survives of the home.

In addition to his wife and parents, other survivors include: a stepmother, Barbara Ervin of Lilbourn; two sons, D.J. Ervin of Scott City and Craig Ervin of the home; one brother, Barney Ervin of Morehouse; three sisters, Sondra Ervin and Brenda Tidwell, both of Kewanee and Rhonda Hardin of Bertrand; and one grandson.

He was preceded in death by one brother.

Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Benton, where funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday. Bill Bradley will officiate.

Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens near Morley.
