DEXTER - Anita S. Jean, 98, died Jan. 19, 2008, at the Central Gardens Residential Care facility in Dexter.
Born Feb. 15, 1909, in Higginsville, to the late Samuel Alfred and Annie Allen Schooling, she had lived in Higginsville before moving to Dexter in 1932. A member of the First United Methodist Church in Dexter, she was active in the United Methodist Women and taught school in Dexter for many years. She was active in PEO, Civic Club, Rotary Ann, Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts.
On June 12, 1932, in Higginsville, she married Hal Jean, who preceded her in death on March 20, 1995.
Also preceding her in death were two brothers, Sam and James Allen Schooling.
Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Pam Jean of Dexter; one daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Mike Alexander of Jonesboro, Ark.; two grandchildren, Dana Chamberlain and Ryan Angle of Jonesboro; and four great-
grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter where services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Louie Lowe of Dexter will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
