NMCC, Scott Central girls win

NEW MADRID -- The NMCC Lady Eagles won their second-consecutive game Thursday night, defeating Charleston at home 54-42.

NMCC (7-10) led 29-13 at half and were able to hold on for the victory.

The Lady Eagles were led in scoring by Tameika Williams who finished with 17. Shameika Williams and Jasmine Flennoy finished with 16 and 15 respectively.

Charleston (1-12) was led by Jerquawn Sherrell's 23.

NMCC will be back in action next Thursday when they host Sikeston while Charleston will travel to Dexter on Thursday.

SIKESTON -- Brianna Johnson scored 19 points to lead the Braves to a one-point victory at home.

Scott Central (4-7) led 23-16 at halftime, but saw the Rams cut the gap to 35-

33 by the close of the third quarter.

Becky Holder paced Scott City with 13 points and Emily Essner added 10.
