EAST PRAIRIE -- Tommy and Linda Loomas have announced the engagement of their daughter, Scarlett Brittany Loomas, to Shaun Hanschen, son of Darrell and Cheryl Hanschen of Jackson.
A 2002 graduate of East Prairie High School, the future bride is the granddaughter of Thomas Loomas, Beatrice Tripp and the late Almeta Loomas and Carnell Tripp. She received a degree in sociology from Wellesley College in 2006 and attends Southeast Missouri State University.
The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of Allen and Lorene McDowell, Jessie Hanschen and the late Walter Hanschen. He is a 1997 graduate of Jackson High School and received a degree in political science from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2001. In 2004, he earned a Juris Doctorate from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law. He is an attorney practicing with Blanton, Rice, Sidwell, Nickell, Cozean and Collins in Sikeston.
Plans are being finalized for a Sept. 15 wedding at Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church in Fruitland.
