WYATT -- A Wyatt man died after being shot outside a bar over the weekend. James "Jamie" Robert Blasingain, 29, of Wyatt, died as a result of a single gunshot wound to the chest with a .22 rifle at approximately 3:15 p.m. Saturday, said Terry Parker, Mississippi County coroner.

"It occurred in the vicinity of the Wheelhouse Bar in Wyatt," Parker said. The Wheelhouse Bar and Grill is located at 104 N. Main St.

An autopsy was done in Farmington Sunday to determine the exact cause of death, Parker said. Meanwhile, the body was released to Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie.

The Mississippi County Sheriff's Department is still in the process of interviewing witnesses, Parker said. As of press time, no one was in custody for the shootings.

"Details are still sketchy," Parker said.
