Police chase ends with accident

MALDEN -- A police chase ended with a head-on collision Sunday evening in Dunklin County.

According to Missouri State Highway Patrol, at 8:27 p.m., a northbound vehicle stolen from Kennett was being pursued by Clarkton Police Department on U.S. Highway 62, one mile south of Malden.

The accident occurred when the driver of the stolen vehicle, Antuan L. Madison, 31, of St. Louis, crossed the center line and struck the southbound vehicle driven by Chase D. Winder, 17, of Malden. According to reports, neither of the drivers were wearing a seat belt.

Both Madison and Winder sustained serious injuries and were air evacuated to Elvis Presley Trauma Center in Memphis, Tenn.
