EAST PRAIRIE - An open house has been planned from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the new facility of the Mississippi County Ambulance Service. The new building, located at the intersection of Highway 105 and Route C, will provide for centralization of the ambulance service. Monday will be the first day the service will operate completely from the new building.

SIKESTON - It's a first for them, and it's a first for him. The Sikeston Senior High School Junior Varsity cheerleading squad has a new addition, and so does Sikeston's cheerleading history. Mike Jaure made history when he tried out for cheerleader and made it.

SIKESTON - Seventeen Public Safety Officers were called to the corner of Lora and Branum streets late Sunday where approximately 30 people had gathered and were throwing rocks and bottles. Four arrests were made and the crowd was finally dispersed at 1:25 a.m. Monday. According to Capt. Joe Sebourn, this was the first large disturbance this summer. However, he said, Sikeston Public Safety is preparing for a hot summer with many hot tempers flaring.
