SIKESTON - The city of Sikeston is seeking approval of a bond issue which won't cost the residential users a penny. "Approval of this revenue bond issue will not impact residential rates currently in place," said City Manager Steve Borgsmiller. The new plant, to be located in the northwest part of the Business and Technology Park next to the drainage ditch will have the capacity to treat 400,000 gallons of water per day. City officials estimate the Good Humor-Breyers plant, scheduled to begin production next April, will ultimately use up to 95 percent of the new plant's capacity. The bonds will be repaid from the operation of the facility.
