SIKESTON - Louis Chadd, 66, died Nov. 1, 2005, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
Born May 25, 1939, in Kewanee, son of the late William Melvin and Dorothy Lands Chadd, he retired from the United States Navy after 21 years, and then worked as a truck driver for Big Lake Transport. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Henry Meldrum American Legion Post 114 in Sikeston.
In 1964, he married Peggy Bennett, who preceded him in death Sept. 28, 1998.
In addition to his wife and parents, one son, William Louis "Billy" Chadd, preceded him in death Nov. 5, 2004.
Survivors include: two sons, Donald Chadd and Richard Chadd, both of Sikeston; three daughters, Lisa Chadd and Tammy Davis, both of Sikeston and Kelly Scott, stationed with the U. S. Army at Fort Monroe, Va.; two brothers, Russell Chadd of Clarksville, Tenn., and Sam Chadd of Sikeston; two sisters, Shirley Ward of Sikeston and Mabel Richie of New Madrid; 17 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, with the Rev. Gary McAnulty, Pentecostal minister from Milan, Tenn., officiating.
