WYATT - Edith Adell Cossey, 96, died at 1 a.m. March 31, 2006, at her home.

Born Aug. 19, 1909, in Dardanelle, Ark., to the late Wiley and Virgie Turner Hicks, she had lived most of her life in Mississippi County and was a member of the Wyatt Baptist Church.

On Oct. 11, 1925, she married Thomas Hobert "T.H." Cossey, who preceded her in death on May 29, 1990.

One son, James Harlen Cossey; three daughters, Catherine Lucille Cossey,

Patsy Ann Cossey and Jacqueline Hack; two brothers, James Hicks and Bill Hicks; two great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, also preceded her in death.

Survivors include: three sons, Clifton H. "Butch" Cossey and Charles T. Cossey, both of Wyatt and Perry Cossey of Columbus, Ohio; three daughters, Shirley James of St. Louis and Linda Graham and Mary Lou Kohl, both of Wyatt; one brother, Frank Hicks of Atkins, Ark.; four sisters, Mildred Sevic of Wyatt, Barness Coffey and Mary Sue Persons, both of Dardanelle, and Ruby Neeley of Ola, Ark.; and 22 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren and 23 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston, where services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday. The Rev. Dean Wallace, pastor of the Wyatt Baptist Church, will officiate. Jennifer James, a granddaughter, will give the eulogy.

Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston.

Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
