BERNIE - Robert A. Clark, 88, died May 29, 2007, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.
Born Dec. 8, 1918, at Bernie, son of the late Charles and Melvina Nelson Clark, he was a veteran of the United States Army, had worked at Balling Rubber Company of Pontiac, Mich., for 14 years later moving to Bernie where he was owner/operator of the Sinclair Station for many years. He was also an active member of the Church of the Nazarene in Bernie.
On May 18, 1940, at Bernie, he married Marta Jean Parks who preceded him in death on Sept. 30, 1997.
Five brothers, Raymond Clark, Melvin Clark, Charles Clark, Gene Clark and Lorie Clark; and three sisters, Ethel Fyffe, Evelyn Rice and Lena Shane, also preceded him in death.
Survivors include one daughter, Kathy Benton of Glendale, Ariz.; three grandchildren; and a special niece and caregiver, Christa Edmonds.
Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie, where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday with the Rev. John Humbert officiating.
Burial will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.
