BLOOMFIELD -- Bobby Wayne Ward, 74, died March 15, 2008, at Grenada, Miss.
Born Aug. 16, 1933, at Hughes, Ark., to the late Carey and Ira Worrell Ward, he was a resident of Arnold but also kept a home in rural Bloomfield. He retired from General Motors Company in St. Louis after 30 years of employment. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, having served during the Korean War, a member of the Bloomfield Masonic Lodge #153 A.F.&A.M., and a member of the Scottish Rite, Valley of St. Louis.
On Dec. 11, 1955, he married Marilyn Thorn, who survives of the home in Arnold.
Other survivors include: one son, Steve Carey Ward of Barnhart; one daughter, Lesa M. Rankin of House Springs; two brothers, Roy Ward of Bloomfield and Fred Ward of Dexter; four sisters, Kitty Welch and Kathryn Williams of Dexter, Katie Scism of St. Louis and Joy Oliver of Farmington; and four grandchildren.
Four brothers, Finis Ward, Hunter Ward, Mack Ward and Jack Ward, preceded him in death.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield, where services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday. The Rev. Susan Hoyle will officiate.
Burial will follow in the West Pleasant Valley Cemetery near Bloomfield.
