DEXTER - Edna Lane, 88, died April 30, 2007, at the Golden Living Center in Dexter.

Born Oct. 15, 1918, in Grayridge, daughter of the late Sherman and Addie Smith Duncan, she was a housewife, member of the Grayridge General Baptist Church, Stoddard County A.R.C. and Order of Eastern Star in Essex.

On July 31, 1937, at Dexter, she married Walter E. Lane who preceded her in death on Jan. 11, 1989.

She was also preceded in death by one son, Walter Dale Lane; two brothers, Sherman Ray Duncan and C.J. Duncan; one sister, Cozetta Rasche; and one granddaughter, Rhonda Michelle Lane.

Survivors include: one son, Martin Gale Lane of Sikeston; four daughters, Juanita Fay Jones of Essex and Glenda Mae McCollough, Judy Carol Conner and Margaret Sue Lane of Dexter; and eight grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

A graveside service was conducted at 11 am. today at the Dexter Cemetery. The Rev. Joe Ogelvie officiated.

Burial followed in the Dexter Cemetery.

Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home of Dexter was in charge of arrangements.
