Donald Parsley
PUXICO -- Donald Levi Parsley, 80, died on Aug. 12, 2007, at his home near Puxico.
Born Oct. 21, 1926, in Puxico, son of the late D.T. and Vida Allen Parsley, he had lived in the Puxico area all his life. He was a row crop and livestock farmer and a road grader operator for Duck Creek Township for several years. He was a member of the Duck Creek Baptist Church for more than 50 years and had served as secretary-treasurer for many years. He belonged to the Mingo Tractor Club.
On Jan. 8, 1949, in Piggot, Ark., he married Mary Lou Vanscyoc, who preceded him in death on Nov. 4, 2006.
He was also preceded in death by: one brother, Alvin Parsley; and five sisters, Alva Cookson, Florence Menley, Wanda Hyten, Janette Rowland and Goldie Parsley.
Survivors include: three sons and daughters-in-law, Allen and Pam Parsley, Edward and Peggy Parsley, all of Puxico and William and Becky Parsley of Dudley; one daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Richard Hawthorne of Puxico; one stepdaughter, Margie Franklin of St. Clair; and 12 grandchildren and 14 great-
grandchildren.
Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Duck Creek Baptist Church near Puxico, with the Revs. Ralph Mayes and David Edwards, both of Poplar Bluff, officiating.
Burial will follow in the Duck Creek Cemetery.
